Machining solutions live
The FZ 19 S five axis makes its first grand appearance. The machine type of the new 19 Series can be used universally for a wide range of parts and processes aluminum just as precisely and productively as it does titanium alloys. You will also experience highly dynamic and autonomous micro-machining for medical and precision technology with the smart combination of Micro5 and the Feed5 handling system. Another perfect team is the DZ 15 W with Variocell UNO automation unit for the autonomous production of many workpieces with very short cycle times.

Incidentally, each of the three machining solutions is equipped with a different control system: the FZ 19 S five axis with a Siemens SINUMERIK ONE, the Micro5 with a Beckhoff, the DZ 15 W with a FANUC 31i-B5. Here as there, operation is intuitive and with safe user guidance via TouchLine.

Premiere in the »Interactive Showroom«
The new options for the 715 Series will be presented digitally – for example the integration of gear hobbing, gear skiving, gear shaping and impact tooth milling in the MT machine variants. In the »Interactive Showroom« you can experience all series for your industry in a digital way. 1,800 square meters, space for 1,500 pallets and around 15,000 spare parts, 15 employees: The key data for the new spare parts warehouse of CHIRON Group Service in Tuttlingen, Germany is impressive. But why have your own warehouse with a service-specific supply chain? Tim Oliver Kramp, Head of Service Supply Chain: »Service requirements are very dynamic these days. With a service-only supply chain and consolidating our stocks in one place, we can provide spare parts for our customers, subsidiaries and service operations with the highest possible availability and much faster than before. +++ Twice as good: Planting trees for customer feedback +++
What do customer surveys from the CHIRON Group have to do with a mixed forest in Dunningen near Rottweil? It’s quite simple. Each completed questionnaire supports a local climate protection project for a new tree. In this way, CHIRON Group customers make a valuable contribution to climate protection. This becomes more valuable with every year that the young trees grow! The taller the tree, the more oxygen it produces. At 20 meters, this is around 10,000 liters per day, which is about as much as ten people need per day.

In 2023, the tree planting day took place in November. Employees and members of the Global Senior Leadership Team planted the first trees together with project partner PLANT-MY-TREE®. In the video, Peter Selenski, a member of the foundation's management team, explains the goals associated with reforestation and how to properly plant a tree so that it grows and thrives.

Do you want to order and compare original spare parts for optimal operation around the clock, from your laptop, access all important information at any time and have an overview of the machine fleet and ordering processes? Yes to all three! With myCHIRON, customers save valuable time, combine a range of processes and benefit from a continuous flow of information. And, as a result, they also enjoy higher machine availability and increased productivity. myCHIRON is currently available online for customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Further countries and new content will be integrated on an ongoing basis.

The central element is the e-shop for original spare parts. Thanks to the clear structure, they can be found quickly, compared directly and ordered as conveniently as private online purchases. The current status is transparent at all times, the history shows all orders from the last two years – whether by telephone as before or now online. Machine parts lists and other documents are also stored.

+++New service for Europe: Spindles as good as new+++
Since August 2023, customers in Europe can have their motor and plug-in spindles in existing machines restored to top condition by CHIRON Group Service. The repair service is sustainable and saves money compared to a new spindle. The new offer is available directly via the individual locations and contact persons, while the CHIRON Croatia team will take care of repairs with original spare parts using its many years of expertise. There is a choice of three repair packages at fixed prices with a graduated scope of services: Basic, Advanced and Refurbished. Optionally, reconditioned spindles can also be stored.

+++ Encouraging technical talent through play: The CHIRON Group joins in +++
Every year, the »Hector Kinderakademie« (Hector Children's Academy) immerses over 20,000 primary school children in the exciting world of science and technology and teaches them to awaken their spirit of research. The state-wide course program funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport is aimed at particularly gifted pupils. At the CHIRON Group in Tuttlingen, Germany, young STEM talents were also able to deepen their knowledge, acquire new skills and develop their creativity over several weeks in spring. The task: Development and construction of a racing car. Under the guidance of experienced trainees, the young talents were given an insight into CAD design, CNC production and 3D printing. Everyone was enthusiastic and focused and was able to take their racing car home with them at the end.

+++ Whistle blower system and due diligence in supply chains +++
Responsibility, respect and trust characterize the corporate culture of the CHIRON Group. Acting lawfully and with integrity are key components of all business activities and an important prerequisite for sustainable success. Nevertheless, individual violations of legal regulations may occur. These must be clarified, remedied and learned from for the future.

Reports from whistle blowers are therefore welcome and can be submitted in various ways. The publicly accessible reporting portal on the website, for example, offers a protected space in accordance with the Whistle blower Protection Act (HinSchG). Here, anyone – employees, customers, business partners – can report grievances or illegal activities confidentially or anonymously.

Under »Compliance« on the website, there is also a complaints option for violations of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). In addition, the CHIRON Group has had a Human Rights Officer since January 2024 in the person of Benjamin Kurth, Global Program Manager Sustainability. He and his deputy Nicolas Zarak, Head of Quality Management, coordinate and monitor all necessary measures.

At the headquarters in Tuttlingen, Germany at the CHIRON Group in China, America and France, motivated trainees have started an exciting new phase of their lives in fall 2023. All talents are trained according to high German standards and their skills are intensively promoted beyond the official training and study content.

In Tuttlingen, 35 young people have started their careers in twelve technical and commercial professions at the CHIRON Group. In both America and France two trainees, in China 16. The number of junior staff there has almost quadrupled compared to the previous year. This also received a »thumbs up« from Cornelia Braun, Senior Vice President Global Human Resources during her visit to the CHIRON China Training Academy.

»Experience the world of machining«: The motto of this year's OPEN HOUSE in Tuttlingen also applies to all other exhibitions and events at which the CHIRON Group has offered trade visitors a special experience in recent months. And, of course, for all the events that are still on the calendar for 2024 and are currently being prepared by teams all over the world.

Regardless if it is large industry meeting points such as AMB in Stuttgart or IMTS 2024 in Chicago, exhibitions such as Precisiebeurs in the Netherlands or Medtec in Shanghai: The aim everywhere is to take visitors into this world, which goes beyond the core competence of milling and mill-turning to include a whole cosmos of products and services that can take machining processes in all user industries to a new level. The reviews of the two OPEN HOUSE events in Tuttlingen and Taicang show what this could look like.

»You are the number one« – the Micro5 yesterday, today, tomorrow
During the OPEN HOUSE, the story of a small revolution was traced and continued in the packed Forum on the sixth floor: a story of ultra-precision, sustainability and innovation. Damien Lüthi, Professor at the Haute Ecole Arc in Neuchâtel, spoke about the path from the idea in 2016 to industrial maturity in 2018. Samuel Vuadens, CEO of CHIRON Swiss, outlined the strategic expansion from Switzerland to the whole world. CTO Dr. Claus Eppler took a look at what he sees as the great, promising future of micro-machining and gave an outlook on further investments by the CHIRON Group in this area. A case study from the watchmaking industry and practical tips from the Medical & Precision Technology Center on how best to use the current functions of the smallest machining center of the CHIRON Group rounded off the anniversary event.     

Second OPEN HOUSE in China a complete success
Experience innovations live, exchange ideas with experts, get answers to crucial questions for optimized manufacturing practice: Around 500 guests also took advantage of this offer at the second OPEN HOUSE China, which took place from May 29 to 31 at the Taicang Innovation Factory.

In addition to machine demonstrations from the entire portfolio of the CHIRON Group and the Chinese debut of the Micro5, the focus of interest was on »local for local« machining centers. Built under the best conditions in the Taicang Innovation Factory, these machines are explicitly designed to meet the requirements of manufacturing companies in China. »We have successfully transferred the comprehensive know-how of the CHIRON Group in Germany to China and combined it with the requirements of our customers here«, said Jiaping Ren, CEO of CHIRON China, in his opening speech. He and the team in Taicang were particularly pleased about the presence of the Hoberg family as shareholders. In addition to Stephan Hoberg and his daughter Victoria, his son Alexander was also present to address the guests on behalf of the Administrative Board of the CHIRON Group SE. 

The event was rounded off with a series of seminars on topics such as smart manufacturing, machining components for aerospace and NEV, New Energy Vehicles. New approaches to process optimization were presented and discussed in the Technical Forum. A partner exhibition was also held for the first time: Here, 22 well-known international companies showcased their products and solutions for a value chain geared towards sustainability.

Strong performance around the globe – what was ...
In addition to the OPEN HOUSE, the CHIRON Group has attended many other exhibitions and event formats in recent months and demonstrated their manufacturing solutions for sustainably productive processes to trade visitors. One of the highlights was EMO Hannover 2023. The world's leading exhibition for production technology had the motto »Innovate Manufacturing«. A slogan that perfectly matched the exhibition appearance of the CHIRON Group. The trade visitors were able to see for themselves what the strong global brand is all about and how the CHIRON Group is future-proofing its promise of PERFORMANCE MEETS PRECISION for its customers from different fields of application.

For example, the next generation of the 15 Series celebrated its premiere with optimized features and PerformanceFinance. The innovative complete package of machine financing, condition monitoring and comprehensive services is available for every machine type in the 15 Series as well as other machining centers and enables entry into quality production with the CHIRON Group even with a limited budget. Another visitor magnet was the DZ 22 S mill turn for flexible production of small to medium batch sizes, for example electric motor housings, at optimized unit costs.
