»Experience the world of machining«: The motto of this year's OPEN HOUSE in Tuttlingen also applies to all other exhibitions and events at which the CHIRON Group has offered trade visitors a special experience in recent months. And, of course, for all the events that are still on the calendar for 2024 and are currently being prepared by teams all over the world.

Regardless if it is large industry meeting points such as AMB in Stuttgart or IMTS 2024 in Chicago, exhibitions such as Precisiebeurs in the Netherlands or Medtec in Shanghai: The aim everywhere is to take visitors into this world, which goes beyond the core competence of milling and mill-turning to include a whole cosmos of products and services that can take machining processes in all user industries to a new level. The reviews of the two OPEN HOUSE events in Tuttlingen and Taicang show what this could look like.

»You are the number one« – the Micro5 yesterday, today, tomorrow
During the OPEN HOUSE, the story of a small revolution was traced and continued in the packed Forum on the sixth floor: a story of ultra-precision, sustainability and innovation. Damien Lüthi, Professor at the Haute Ecole Arc in Neuchâtel, spoke about the path from the idea in 2016 to industrial maturity in 2018. Samuel Vuadens, CEO of CHIRON Swiss, outlined the strategic expansion from Switzerland to the whole world. CTO Dr. Claus Eppler took a look at what he sees as the great, promising future of micro-machining and gave an outlook on further investments by the CHIRON Group in this area. A case study from the watchmaking industry and practical tips from the Medical & Precision Technology Center on how best to use the current functions of the smallest machining center of the CHIRON Group rounded off the anniversary event.     

Second OPEN HOUSE in China a complete success
Experience innovations live, exchange ideas with experts, get answers to crucial questions for optimized manufacturing practice: Around 500 guests also took advantage of this offer at the second OPEN HOUSE China, which took place from May 29 to 31 at the Taicang Innovation Factory.

In addition to machine demonstrations from the entire portfolio of the CHIRON Group and the Chinese debut of the Micro5, the focus of interest was on »local for local« machining centers. Built under the best conditions in the Taicang Innovation Factory, these machines are explicitly designed to meet the requirements of manufacturing companies in China. »We have successfully transferred the comprehensive know-how of the CHIRON Group in Germany to China and combined it with the requirements of our customers here«, said Jiaping Ren, CEO of CHIRON China, in his opening speech. He and the team in Taicang were particularly pleased about the presence of the Hoberg family as shareholders. In addition to Stephan Hoberg and his daughter Victoria, his son Alexander was also present to address the guests on behalf of the Administrative Board of the CHIRON Group SE. 

The event was rounded off with a series of seminars on topics such as smart manufacturing, machining components for aerospace and NEV, New Energy Vehicles. New approaches to process optimization were presented and discussed in the Technical Forum. A partner exhibition was also held for the first time: Here, 22 well-known international companies showcased their products and solutions for a value chain geared towards sustainability.

In addition to the OPEN HOUSE, the CHIRON Group has attended many other exhibitions and event formats in recent months and demonstrated their manufacturing solutions for sustainably productive processes to trade visitors. One of the highlights was EMO Hannover 2023. The world's leading exhibition for production technology had the motto »Innovate Manufacturing«. A slogan that perfectly matched the exhibition appearance of the CHIRON Group. The trade visitors were able to see for themselves what the strong global brand is all about and how the CHIRON Group is future-proofing its promise of PERFORMANCE MEETS PRECISION for its customers from different fields of application.

For example, the next generation of the 15 Series celebrated its premiere with optimized features and PerformanceFinance. The innovative complete package of machine financing, condition monitoring and comprehensive services is available for every machine type in the 15 Series as well as other machining centers and enables entry into quality production with the CHIRON Group even with a limited budget. Another visitor magnet was the DZ 22 S mill turn for flexible production of small to medium batch sizes, for example electric motor housings, at optimized unit costs.
